This free 30 minute consultation is an opportunity for us to discuss the challenges you are facing in your home and what you want to change. I’ll give an overview of how the KonMari Method® works and outline how I can help you. The conversation can be done via telephone, Zoom/Teams or FaceTime (or if local, I’m happy to meet for a social distanced coffee!). Sessions can be booked individually or as a package. The number of sessions needed will depend on the project and we can discuss this during the consultation.

KonMari® Tidying Session | £295

*Sessions typically last 5 hours

 

At the start of the session we will review your goals discussed in our consultation call. Then, working together, I will coach and support you as we tidy and organise by category. The first category is clothes (including how to fold them), then books, papers, miscellaneous and sentimental. The length of time it takes to work through each category will depend on how quickly you are able to work and how much you have to tidy.

You will hone your skill at distinguishing what sparks joy and learn to let go of those things which no longer serve you. As we move through the categories, I will show you how to organise the items you cherish and set up systems that are both functional and pleasing to the eye.

Towards the end of a session, we can discuss if you wish to book additional hours or whether you are happy to be set homework. To support you in completing your ‘homework’ I am happy to provide support via email and Whatsapp.

Tidying Session | £150

Virtual sessions provide a way for you to work with a tidying coach during the Pandemic or, under normal conditions, when a KonMari® consultant isn’t in your area. 

These sessions will be conducted via Zoom or Teams, therefore, access to a reliable internet connection and camera, via your computer or phone is required. 

Working together, I will support you in tidying any of the categories of KonMari Method® including clothes, books, papers, komono (miscellaneous items) and sentimental Items. The length of time it takes to work through each category will depend on how quickly you are able to work and how much you have to tidy. Towards the end of a session, we can discuss if you wish to book additional hours or whether you are happy to be set homework. To support you in completing your ‘homework’ I am happy to provide support via email and Whatsapp.

 FAQs

WHY USE A KONMARI CONSULTANT?

When you employ a KonMari consultant you are investing in a coach who is passionate about helping you live a simpler and more joyful life.  We have successfully implemented the method in our own homes and helped clients, who like you, want to take action and start their journey towards living their ideal lifestyle.  You will benefit from working 1 to 1 with a coach who will, with empathy and respect, hold space for you, support and motivate you and help you tidy up once and for all.

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY FIRST SESSION?

Prior to the session, I will ask you to create a vision board (how you do this is up to you, cut pictures out of magazines, describe it in the written word or pin images on Pinterest) articulating your ideal lifestyle. Having a clear vision in your mind is a critical first step in your tidying journey, as it will act as a source of motivation and guide you as you tidy. Try and be specific and imagine what your ideal day would look like. What would you be doing? Who are you with? What are you wearing? How would you feel? 

Whilst I know it’s tempting; please don’t feel you need to tidy up before our session. It’s important for me to see your home in its natural state. 

Finally, please put measures in place to ensure you are not distracted by others in your household, family members or telephone calls during the session.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING MY FIRST ORGANISING SESSION?

At the beginning of the session we will recap what we discussed in our complimentary call and, if you are willing to share, discuss your vision board. We will take a quick tour of your house and then you are welcome to join me in ‘greeting your home’. We will kneel on the floor and use this moment of mindfulness to let go of any anxiety that you may have and invite your home to ‘help us’ tidy. Together, we will then begin to work on the first category (usually clothes). We’ll gather all your clothes together in one place. You will take each item of clothing in your hands and decide if it sparks joy. Once we have done this, I will teach you how to fold the KonMari way. If we complete a category within the a few hours, we can continue on to the next. At the end of this first session we can then discuss the next steps for your tidying journey.

DO I NEED TO BE PRESENT DURING THE TIDYING SESSION?

Yes! Tidying is a personal journey, so you need to be present. I will be there to coach and support you but only you can decide which of your belongings spark joy.

HOW LONG DOES A SESSION LAST?

Typically, a session will last between 3 and 5 hours. This tends to be the optimal time frame to see progress before energy levels dip. The total number of sessions needed will depend on whether you wish to complete some or all the categories: clothes, books, papers, komono (miscellaneous) and sentimental, the number of things you own and how quickly you can joy check your belongings. I can provide you with tidying homework for you to do between sessions if you are hoping to achieve more with fewer sessions. This is something we can discuss during our initial call. 

WILL YOU MAKE ME THROW THINGS AWAY?

In short, no! Unlike more traditional tidying methods which focus on what you should discard, the KonMari Method™ asks us to consider what we would like to keep, based on the simple question of whether it sparks joy.  What you decide to keep and let go, is and must be up to you. 

WHAT HAPPENS TO THE THINGS I WANT TO DISCARD?

I can provide guidance on how and where to donate, recycle or sell those items which no longer spark joy.
